Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Georgia have agreed on a project to modernize their electricity transmission systems. This will enable the trade of electricity generated from renewable energy sources and improve energy security.
According to the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, the project's completion will modernize transmission systems, make production infrastructure more efficient, and increase energy security.
Bayraktar noted that the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAŞ) and Azerbaijan's largest electricity producer, Azerenerji, have signed an operational agreement to expand energy cooperation. This agreement will ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity transmission between Turkey and Nakhichevan, modernize existing infrastructure, and increase transmission capacity.
