"Tehran wants direct talks." Trump

US President Donald Trump is confident that Iran is ready for direct negotiations over its nuclear program. Bloomberg reported this, citing Trump's statement on Air Force One.

The publication notes that this statement was made a day after Tehran announced it was ready to hold appropriate negotiations, but only through mediators.

"Forget about the letters; I think they (Iran) want to have direct negotiations," Trump said.

He emphasized that he prefers to negotiate with Iran separately and that this can facilitate agreements.

"They (Iran) wanted to use mediators. I think it's not necessary. They're worried. I think they feel vulnerable, and I don't want them to feel that way," the head of the White House added.
