"Armenia and Azerbaijan's positions are quite close." Aliyev

“I think that today the positions of Azerbaijan and Armenia on achieving peace are quite close to each other,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said during a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

“Our historic victory paved the way for peace negotiations, and I think that today, the positions of Azerbaijan and Armenia on achieving peace have become quite close,” Aliyev said.

The German President, in turn, stated that great efforts have been made over the past 30 years to resolve the conflict, restore relations, and agree on a peace agreement.

“A wonderful moment has come for the agreement, and it must be used by all means. After the agreement is signed, it will take many years to become a reality. A reliable reconciliation takes a long time. And the first step is to sign a peace agreement. I believe that this will happen,” the German President stated.
