Ukraine wants to amend the laws to postpone the elections, as announced by Oleg Didenko, head of the country's Central Election Commission.
"After the war's end, it will take more time to prepare for the elections than is provided for by the current legislation," Didenko said.
According to the law, parliamentary elections should be held 60 days after the end of martial law and presidential elections 90 days after.
However, Didenko noted that considering the war's consequences, these terms will not be sufficient, and the electoral processes should be adjusted.
He believes adopting a law to regulate the specifics of holding post-war elections is necessary.
