Tokayev stressed the importance of restraint in his meeting with Kallas

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.

As Kallas emphasized, the high level of bilateral relations development is confirmed by the fact that Kazakhstan is the first country in the region to sign the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the European Union. She announced the launch of the procedure for concluding an agreement between the European Commission and Kazakhstan on simplifying the visa issuance procedure.

The interlocutors exchanged views on current issues of the international and regional agenda.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the particular importance of exercising restraint and responsibility in assessing complex events taking place in the world, given the growing global instability. According to him, Kazakhstan consistently seeks solutions to all acute international problems and conflicts through diplomatic negotiations.

Cooperation issues in the "Central Asia-EU" format were also discussed at the meeting.
