The Azerbaijani side has called on the Armenian side to speed up the process of signing a peace agreement and noted that this opportunity will not be eternal.
Elchin Amirbekov, the special representative of the Azerbaijani president in Buenos Aires, stated this in an interview with the Argentinean newspaper "Perfil."
"One of the factors that motivates Armenia to reach an agreement is the realization that this opportunity will not be eternal; it would be a mistake to miss it," Amirbekov said.
According to him, the negotiations between Baku and Yerevan on the text of the peace agreement, which ended this month, paved the way for the normalization of relations and the establishment of diplomatic ties. However, for this, Armenia must make changes to its constitution, abandon territorial claims, and withdraw foreign forces from the border regions.
"This agreement is not the end, but the beginning. Peace is built not on statements but on concrete steps," the Azerbaijani official emphasized.
