French President Emmanuel Macron announced at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that France will provide Ukraine with 2 billion euros in military aid.
“After the signing of the peace agreement, the greatest guarantee of Ukraine’s security is to have its strong army. Our goal is to help Ukraine deter aggression on the front line and ensure long-term peace,” Macron said.
He added that the peacekeeping force that the West wants to send to Ukraine will be able to respond militarily if they are attacked.
For his part, Zelensky suggested that Moscow is trying to include additional conditions in the agreement on a ceasefire in the Black Sea. According to him, if Russia wants to continue the war, it is necessary to pressure them.
“The unconditional peace offer has been on the table since March 11, but Russia refuses to accept it. Sanctions must remain and be strengthened as long as the occupation continues. Russia understands only force.
The more military equipment is produced in Europe, the more peaceful it will be for us to live here. Let us hope and believe that the United States will still have enough power to force Putin to an unconditional ceasefire,” he said.
