The UN cannot ensure Ukraine's security, so this option regarding peacekeepers is not being considered. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this.
According to the Ukrainian President, monitoring the ceasefire is key, but NATO remains the best guarantee.
"Monitoring the ceasefire should be carried out by those countries with which Kyiv already cooperates in the intelligence field. However, the most effective format for security guarantees is NATO," Zelensky said.
He also spoke about the US and Ukrainian technical group meeting that is expected in Saudi Arabia on Monday.
"I think it would be good if the meeting ended with some result that would bring us closer to a complete cessation of the ceasefire. Ukraine has initially supported the US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire since this does not require additional meetings at the technical level," the Ukrainian President said.
Zelensky also stressed that he is aware of the Trump-Putin talks.
"Trump told me what he talked about with Putin. In particular, the conversation was about not using missiles and other long-range weapons, not striking energy facilities and other civilian infrastructure," he said, adding that it was necessary to determine what was included in "other civilian infrastructure."
