London Heathrow Airport is closed

London's Heathrow Airport has been closed. It will remain closed all day today due to a fire at a substation that supplies the airport with electricity. The cause of the fire is not yet known, airport officials said.

"A fire at an electrical substation is causing major power outages at Heathrow. To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, the airport will remain closed until 23:59 on March 21," the airport's official website said.

Passengers are advised to temporarily avoid the airport and contact their airlines for more information.

Heathrow is one of Europe's busiest airports. Following the fire, flights to the airport have been diverted to other airports.
