Trump ordered release of 80,000 pages of documents related to Kennedy's assassination

President Donald Trump told reporters at the Kennedy Center that he plans to release the unredacted files on the assassination of John F. Kennedy today, following through on a long-held campaign promise.

"We're going to announce tomorrow and release all the files on Kennedy; people have been waiting for decades for this. It's going to be released tomorrow," Trump said.

The president said the files would not be redacted.

"We have many documents; you'll have to read a lot. I don't believe we'll redact anything; I just said don't redact anything; you can't redact anything. But we will release the JFK file, which will happen tomorrow," he said.

The president said the total amount of documents released would be "about 80,000 pages."
