Five senior Hamas officials killed

Five senior Hamas officials have been killed in Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip. Five senior Hamas figures were reportedly killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, Israeli and Arab media reported Tuesday, citing Palestinian sources.

The Israeli army began airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Monday night, in what the prime minister’s office said was a response to Hamas’s refusal to release hostages still being held in Gaza.

Sky New Arabia reported that five Hamas officials were among the dead, including Mahmoud Abu Watfa, director general of Hamas’s interior ministry; Abu Obeida Muhammad al-Jamasi, a member of Hamas’s political bureau; Issam al-Daalis, a member of Hamas’s political bureau; and Bahjat Abu Sultan, who was in charge of Hamas’s internal security apparatus.
