Germany has made a historic decision on Ukraine. Baerbock

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels that Germany has made a historic decision to increase its aid to Ukraine by 3 billion euros in 2025.

"It is also important that, in addition to the investments in security and infrastructure provided for in the basic law, we are finally allocating another 3 billion euros to support Ukraine in 2025. This means that Germany will continue to provide Ukraine with 7 billion euros, as it did last year," she said.

She noted that on March 18, an amendment to the German Constitution would be introduced that would allow a significant increase in debt for defense financing and provide more excellent support to Ukraine.

"This is a strong signal that Germany takes its security, the security of Ukraine, and the security of Europe seriously. "Our contribution to the European world, which we will announce tomorrow in a historic decision in the German Bundestag, is something we have never done before on such a scale," Baerbock emphasized.

It should be recalled that Germany discussed allocating 3 billion euros to Ukraine even before the parliamentary elections. However, Chancellor Olaf Scholz removed this issue from the agenda.
