"Ukraine must be prepared to make difficult decisions." Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the conflict in Ukraine "has no military solution." Rubio made the remarks ahead of meetings with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia.

A Ukrainian delegation, led by Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, will meet with Rubio and other senior White House officials in Jeddah.

Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine would take a "completely constructive" stance during the talks and expressed hope that they would yield practical results to end Russia's war in his country.

Rubio told reporters at a briefing: "The most important thing is that we must leave here with a clear conviction that Ukraine is ready to make difficult decisions, just as Russia must make difficult decisions, to end this conflict or at least to stop it in some way.

Both sides need to understand that this situation has no military solution.

"The Russians cannot occupy all of Ukraine, and it will be tough for Ukraine to force the Russians to return to the 2014 borders within a reasonable timeframe fully."
