Kurdish SDF is integrating into Syria

On March 10, the new Syrian authorities announced an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to integrate the civilian and military institutions of the Kurdish autonomous administration into the Syrian government.

The agreement defines specific areas in northeastern Syria, including border crossings, an airport, and oil and gas fields. AFP reports that it should be implemented by the end of 2025.

After the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December 2024, the new Syrian authorities, led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, are trying to disperse the armed groups operating in Syria and establish control over the entire territory of the country.
