The French Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over the violence that has taken place in Syria in recent days in the provinces of Tartus, Latakia, and Homs, the ministry said in a statement.
“France strongly condemns the violence against civilians on religious grounds. We urge the Syrian authorities to ensure that an independent investigation can shed light on these crimes and that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
France reaffirms its commitment to a peaceful and inclusive political transition, protected from external interference, guaranteeing the preservation of Syria’s ethnic and religious pluralism. This is the only way to prevent violence in the country,” the statement said.
