South Korea's former president released from detention

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was ousted for declaring martial law in the country, has been released from detention by a court order.
South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that the Seoul Central District Court had granted Yun Seok-yeol's request to lift his detention.

The politician petitioned the court, stating that the charges against him for declaring martial law on December 3 were illegal.
