Donald Trump met with reporters in the Oval Office to discuss revoking the temporary legal status of Ukrainians in the country. The president said that while his administration doesn’t want to offend anyone, it is considering such a move.
“Well, we don’t want to offend anyone, and we certainly don’t want to offend them. Some people thought it was appropriate, and some people didn’t, and I’ll make a decision soon, but we don’t want to offend them, especially the Ukrainians; they’ve been through a lot,” Trump said.
It should be noted that Reuters reported earlier on Thursday that the administration was planning to revoke the temporary legal status of thousands of Ukrainians, which the White House immediately denied.
Assistance, known as temporary protected status, applies to people who would face extreme hardship if forced to return to their homeland.
