Zelensky confirms talks with US to take place on Monday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that talks between Ukrainian and US delegations will occur in Saudi Arabia next week. The delegations will discuss cooperation between the two countries to establish peace. The BBC reports that Zelensky made the statement during a European Union summit in Brussels, where European leaders decided to sharply strengthen the continent's security against the backdrop of Russian aggression.

Zelensky wrote on social networks that he would leave for Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. "After that, my team will remain in Saudi Arabia to work with American partners," Volodymyr Zelensky added.

US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, told reporters he planned to travel to Saudi Arabia to meet with the Ukrainian delegation. "The task is to develop a framework for a peace agreement and a preliminary reconciliation," he said.
