Why Zelensky didn't wear a suit to his meeting with Trump

Volodymyr Zelensky’s designer, Elvira Hasanova, told the Financial Times why the Ukrainian president did not wear a suit to his meeting with Donald Trump.

“He is a wartime leader. Even politicians do not need suits in wartime,” the designer explained.

It should be noted that Zelensky wore a long-sleeved polo shirt with a trident embroidered on it to his meeting with Trump. “This is a symbol of Ukraine’s national independence. His style sets the standard for leadership in the 21st century because he has a strong personality,” the designer explained.

According to the designer, Zelensky’s images are “part of a message to the world that he stands with his people.”

“We cannot wear suits when our soldiers are fighting, and our people are in shelters. It is more than fashion. It is communication,” Hasanova is convinced.
