The EU is trying to replace Musk's Starlink

Reuters reported on March 4 that the Franco-British group Eutelsat is in talks with the European Union to eventually replace its OneWeb satellites with American billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink, becoming their alternative in Ukraine.

According to him, Eutelsat shares have more than tripled in price in the past two days, increasing its market capitalization by more than 1 billion euros.

"We are exchanging views with the EU on how we can contribute to the expansion of Ukraine's efforts," an Eutelsat representative told Reuters, adding that the company has geostationary satellite capabilities suitable for some regional projects.

The EU had previously discussed with Ukraine the possibility of using Govsatcom as an alternative to Starlink.
