Former US President Donald Trump has addressed the Russian-Ukrainian war and his efforts to end it.
“I am working tirelessly to end the brutal conflict in Ukraine,” Trump said during his speech to Congress.
“Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or injured in this horrific and brutal war, with no end in sight. The United States has spent hundreds of billions of dollars defending Ukraine,” he said.
Addressing Congress, Trump asked, "Do you want this to go on for another five years?”
He also emphasized that the United States has spent significantly more money supporting Ukraine than Europe. “It is unfortunate that Europe has spent more money buying Russian oil and gas than it has on defending Ukraine. Imagine that,” he said.
During his speech, when Trump spoke about Ukraine, some Democratic congressmen left the hall.
