US President Donald Trump has called on Congress to criminalize child sex reassignment surgery.
“I want Congress to pass a law that permanently bans and criminalizes child sex reassignment and to end once and for all the lie that every child is ‘in the wrong body,’” Trump said.
The president has already rolled back several Biden administration measures aimed at promoting transgender rights and has vowed to root out “gender ideology.”
Trump, citing various “absurd” spending by the previous US administration, noted that $8 million was spent on a mouse sex reassignment program.
