US President Donald Trump has described the talks in the Gaza Strip as "pretty good" when asked about the future of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas (a terrorist organization designated by the US), Voice of America reports.
The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect on January 19. It consists of three phases and has already led to the exchange of 33 Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons. Trump was asked whether a second phase of the ceasefire would be implemented.
"We'll see what happens. Nobody knows, but we'll see what happens," the US president said. "We're having pretty good negotiations."
