The US State Department described the meeting with Russian diplomats in Turkey as constructive.
“The sides held constructive discussions on their diplomatic missions and agreed to hold the next meeting shortly,” the State Department said.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sonata Coulter led the US delegation to the meeting in Istanbul, and Alexander Darchiev, Director of the North Atlantic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the Russian delegation.
It is noted that the American side expressed concern about the availability of banking and contractual services for the US Embassy in Moscow.
“As a result of the constructive discussions, both sides identified specific initial steps to stabilize the activities of the bilateral missions in these areas,” the State Department said.
