Moscow expects Baku to be guided by the allied nature of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and to approach the issue constructively with the representation of the Rossiya Segodnya media group in Azerbaijan (Sputnik Azerbaijan). This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at a briefing.
"We expect a constructive response and believe we can reach mutually acceptable decisions through joint efforts. We proceed from the fact that our partners will be guided by the allied nature of Russian-Azerbaijani relations in their further steps and will refrain from harming the multifaceted bilateral ties between our countries and peoples," Zakharova emphasized.
"We are in contact with the Azerbaijani side on this issue, and we have informed our partners that our position is significant for us. I think it is no less important for Baku," Zakharova said.
He says the Russian side "listens and perfectly understands the arguments of the Azerbaijani partners."
"Yes, indeed, the law is the law; no one argues, but it is always possible to find mutually acceptable solutions and an opportunity to regulate and resolve the situation. I do not see any contradictions here between maintaining legality and normal mutually respectful relations for regulating the situation," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.
