Trump administration cuts 90% of USAID foreign aid contracts

The Trump administration has announced it is eliminating more than 90% of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) 's foreign aid contracts and reducing global assistance by $60 billion.

The administration's proposed cuts mean that very few USAID projects will survive, and the organizations that defend them will have to continue their legal battles.

The Trump administration has presented its plans as part of a series of lawsuits.

The Supreme Court intervened in the case late Wednesday, temporarily blocking a court order that would have required the administration to release billions of dollars in foreign aid by midnight.
