State of emergency in Chile: Almost 99% of the country is without power

Chilean authorities have declared a state of emergency due to massive power outages that have affected almost 99% of the country.

The massive outage left more than 8 million people in South American countries without electricity.

The Chilean government has announced a curfew in many regions, including Santiago.

️Chilean President Gabriel Borissov has blamed private companies for the incident.

"It is unacceptable that the daily lives of millions of Chileans suffer because of the fault of one or more companies," the figure said.
