US President Donald Trump has announced the launch of a "Gold Card" program for obtaining permanent residence in the country with a guarantee of direct US citizenship. The US "Golden Card" visa program may replace the "EB-5" immigrant investor visa program in the coming months.
The EB-5 visa is one of the easiest ways to obtain permanent residence in the US, as it allows a foreigner to get a green card through investment.
A few months after Donald Trump canceled the US birthright citizenship policy, the EB-5 visa program has become a profitable option for many Indians, especially H-1B visa holders.
CNN reported that applicants for the US "gold card" visa will be required to meet the mandatory condition of spending $ 5 million in America to be eligible for a green card.
"We are going to sell a gold card. "You have a green card. This is a gold card. We're going to put a price tag on that card of about $5 million, and it will give you the benefits of a green card, plus it will be a path to citizenship. And rich people will come into our country by buying this card," Trump emphasized.
