UN Security Council adopts neutral resolution proposed by the US

The UN Security Council has adopted a neutral resolution proposed by the United States on the war in Ukraine.

The document was approved without changes. The text does not contain accusations against Russia or mentions of an invasion. The war is presented as a "conflict," and the resolution does not use the term "aggressor" in relation to the Russian Federation.

Ten countries voted in favor of the resolution: the United States, Russia, China, Algeria, Guyana, Sierra Leone, South Korea, Pakistan, Panama, and Somalia. Great Britain, France, Greece, Slovenia, and Denmark abstained.

Yesterday, the UN General Assembly adopted two resolutions, which Ukraine submitted jointly with the European Union and the United States. The first resolution condemns the Russian Federation and calls for the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops. The second resolution, initiated by the United States, does not condemn the Russian Federation's aggression.
