Nearly half of Ukraine's population has mental health problems. WHO

Almost half of the Ukrainian population (46%) has mental health problems as a result of the war, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported.

“Three years of extensive war and 11 years of ongoing occupation have had a significant impact on the health of the Ukrainian population. According to the latest estimates (October 2024), 68% of Ukrainians have experienced a deterioration in their health compared to the pre-war period.

The most common health problems are mental health problems, affecting 46% of the population; mental disorders, 41%; and neurological diseases, 39%," the organization said in a report.
