The Financial Times reports that Volodymyr Zelensky shouted at US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during a visit to Kiev.
According to the Financial Times, the meeting between the Ukrainian president and the US Treasury Secretary turned into a conflict. The newspaper’s sources claim that “groaning voices” were heard behind the office's door where the negotiations were held.
In a conversation with the FT, officials familiar with the situation said that the conflict occurred because Bessent insisted on immediately signing the agreement on minerals.
The Ukrainian leader refused, after which he told reporters that Kyiv would discuss the deal with Vance and other US officials in Munich. During this time, according to FT sources, Bessent stood next to Zelensky with trembling hands and clearly agitated.
