The West’s plans for Ukraine include the possible deployment of European troops but without NATO participation. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant said this on Fox News.
“I understand it will be a military decision by Europe, but not by NATO. That’s where we’ll start,” he said, responding to a question about the possibility of US troops participating in a potential peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
According to him, US President Donald Trump’s upcoming meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron on February 24 and with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on February 27 will be devoted, in particular, to discussing these issues.
