France and the United Kingdom plan to deploy 30,000 peacekeepers to Ukraine. WSJ

Then, the two European countries expect to use American military capabilities to protect peacekeepers from threats. The sources said that air defense systems already in Europe can serve this purpose. The initiative's success depends primarily on the ability of European leaders to convince US President Donald Trump to support the plan to deploy peacekeepers.

The sources note that French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Washington on February 24 and hold talks with Trump. And on February 27, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will arrive for a meeting with the American leader.
