Macron is considering increasing France's military spending from 2.1% of GDP to 5%, Franceinfo reported.
Macron is considering the possibility of the United States withdrawing from Europe's defense.
"I don't know if 5% is the right number for France, but in any case, we must increase it," Macron said.
