US President Donald Trump is not going to tolerate the rhetoric of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The US leader's national security assistant, Mike Walz, stated this on the Fox News channel.
According to him, the Ukrainian side is "showing amazing resistance and escalation of rhetoric" regarding the agreement proposed by Washington on the use of Ukrainian minerals in exchange for aid.
"We believe American taxpayers deserve to regain a larger part of their investments. This is an opportunity for Ukraine, and they must realize what is at stake. But instead, we get escalation of rhetoric and retaliation, which the president will not tolerate," he said.
According to Walz, the United States expects French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to visit Washington, where they will discuss the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
"President Macron and Prime Minister Starmer will be in Washington next week; we are working with all parties to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The next step will be to set up technical groups to discuss it in more detail," he said.
The official added that just a few months ago, everyone was talking about this war as if it would never end very shortly, and President Trump has forced all of us – Ukrainians, Russians, Europeans – to speak and discuss how it will end."
