Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has postponed his visit to Saudi Arabia to not “lend legitimacy” to a meeting between US and Russian officials in Riyadh, Reuters reports, citing sources.

Speaking in Turkey, Zelensky said he had postponed his planned visit to Saudi Arabia until Wednesday, March 10. He stressed that he did not want “anything to happen by chance.”

“We do not want anyone to make decisions behind our backs... No decision on ending the war in Ukraine can be made without Ukraine,” Zelensky said.

“Ukraine did not want any of the events in Riyadh to be legitimized,” Reuters sources said.
