French President Emmanuel Macron has said that Russia is an existential threat to Europe. According to him, what is happening today concerns not only Ukrainians but also all of Europe, writes RFI.
Macron stressed that "a simple ceasefire will not solve the conflict in any way," especially after almost three years have passed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
"Only a complete and final peace, which guarantees security, social, economic, and political stability in Ukraine, can solve this problem over time," he said.
At the same time, Macron noted that Washington remains a key ally of Europe and recalled that "Russia is a nuclear power, which is a key issue for European security."
Macron also said they would hold discussions with all 27 EU members by the end of the week.
