The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to hold talks with Vladimir Zelensky. However, the legal aspects related to the latter's legitimacy as head of state must also be considered.
When journalists asked whether the Russian President was ready to negotiate with his Ukrainian counterpart, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov replied: "Putin has repeatedly said that if necessary, he will be ready to negotiate with Zelensky. At the same time, the legal consolidation of the agreements is subject to serious discussion, considering the reality, which speaks of the possibility of challenging Zelensky's legitimacy."
