"Musk is not an employee of DOGE." White House

Elon Musk is the senior adviser to the president in the administration and is not an employee of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

As The Independent writes, this is stated in the White House response.

Musk has no authority to make government decisions but only advises the president and transmits instructions. He also emphasized that he is not an employee of the DOGE service or its temporary organizations and does not hold the position of DOGE administrator.

"Like other senior advisers to the White House, Mr. Musk does not have actual or formal authority to make independent government decisions," the statement says.

The investigation into Musk's authority was launched after Judge Tanya Chutkan raised concerns. She expressed doubts about DOGE's practices.
