“Zelensky and Putin should have direct talks,” Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg said ahead of the Munich conference.
He added that Putin’s arguments about President Zelensky’s alleged “illegitimateness” for not wanting to talk to him are not working, and they should meet.
Kellogg also denied reports that Trump allegedly only wants to make deals with Putin. He stressed that the three sides, especially Ukraine and Russia, must talk to each other.
“But that’s not going to work. They (Zelensky and Putin) have to have direct talks. Both sides have to give up something,” Kellogg said.
