Russian and US President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation. The US President reported this on his social network page.
"I had a long and very productive telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin briefly. We discussed issues such as Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, and the dollar.
We agreed that we wanted to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war. Putin even used my campaign slogan, "Common Sense."
▫️We agreed to work together very closely, including mutual visits. We decided that our teams would immediately begin negotiations. I will immediately call Ukrainian President Zelensky to inform him of this conversation.
"I have instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Special Envoy Steve Whittock to begin negotiations immediately," Trump said.
