Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace. The French side announced it would support Armenia in preparing for the COP 17 conference on biodiversity.
"The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister of Armenia concluded by discussing the preparations for the COP17 conference on biodiversity, which Armenia will host in 2026. The Head of State noted that France is fully ready to provide Armenia with the necessary support to prepare for COP17," the Elysee Palace said in a statement.
Macron also thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for participating and emphasized the convergence of views between Armenia and the EU on innovation and new technologies.
The French leader confirmed France's full support for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and signing a peace treaty in accordance with international law. He also reaffirmed France's determination to support Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty and the Armenian people's aspirations for peace, security, and democracy.
