Trump threatens Jordan and Egypt

US President Donald Trump has said he could cut aid to Jordan and Egypt if they drop his demand to accept the majority of Palestinians permanently.

He said the pressure on key regional allies to support his bold proposal to resettle the entire territory's population would be significantly increased.

"If they don't agree, I will probably cut off aid," Trump told reporters a day before meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II.

Both Jordan and Egypt have rejected any proposal to resettle Palestinians in their countries.
