US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States is making progress in talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, Reuters reports. At the same time, however, Trump refused to provide details about his contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
During a conversation with reporters on Air Force One, Trump did not deny that there had been contact between them. When asked whether he had spoken to Putin, Trump replied, "I'm not going to say anything more. Let's put it this way: I won't say anything more... But I'm looking forward to many more conversations. We have to end this war."
"If we are talking, I don't want to talk about those conversations," Trump added. "I believe we are making progress. We want to stop the war between Ukraine and Russia."
Trump noted that the United States is in contact with both Russia and Ukraine: "We are talking to both sides."
