US President Donald Trump has announced his intention to take control of the Gaza Strip and cooperate with wealthy Middle Eastern countries.
"I am committed to buying and owning Gaza. As far as rebuilding it, we can give it to other countries in the Middle East to build individual sections; other people can do it with our support. But we are going to own it, take it, and make sure that Hamas does not come back," Trump said.
According to the US president, the Gaza Strip is subject to demolition.
"There is no going back. The section is being demolished. Everything is destroyed," he said.
Trump also stressed that he is open to the possibility of some Palestinian refugees entering the United States, but he will consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.
"The only reason they are talking about returning to Gaza is because they have no alternative. "When they have an alternative, they will not want to return to Gaza," the US president said.
