"The ball is in the EU's court." Kobakhidze

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze demands justice and a change in approach to Tbilisi from the EU.

“Georgia is ready to resume EU accession talks if Brussels changes its approach to Tbilisi,” he told Euronews in an interview.

According to Kobakhidze, they are not satisfied with the current state of relations.

“We are interested in establishing healthy relations with the European Union, which is not the case at the moment, but we are confident that this is not due to Georgian policy,” Kobakhidze said.

He blamed “European bureaucracy” and reiterated his optimism that Georgia will become an EU member by 2030. Kobakhidze added that “the ball is in the EU’s court,” and the bloc should be more flexible in its approach to new members.
