Syria’s interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, recently spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The French president invited him to Paris “in the coming months.” This is the first time a new Syrian leader has talked with a Western leader.
Macron spoke with Shaaraa about the need to continue the “fight against terrorism,” which, he said, “is in the interest of the Syrian people, as well as the security of the French nation.”
