The head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Andriy Yermak, reported on Monday on the Telegram channel that 12 Ukrainian children who fled to Russia have returned to their homeland.
Since the start of the large-scale war, 19,546 children have been illegally taken out of Ukraine. Of these, 1,037 have been returned to their homeland.
The deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia was the basis for the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to issue arrest warrants for Vladimir Putin and the Russian Ombudsman for Children, Maria Lvova-Belova. The Kremlin denies the accusations, claiming that the children were taken to safe areas.
