Reuters reports exclusive details of discussions between Syrian and Turkish presidents

Syrian Acting President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will discuss a bilateral defense agreement in Ankara. According to Reuters, the main topics of discussion will be the establishment of Turkish air bases in central Syria and the training of a new Syrian army.

Citing well-informed sources, the media outlet writes that the agreement stipulates that Turkey will establish new air bases in Syria, use Syrian airspace for military purposes, and train soldiers for the latest Syrian army.

It should be noted that the new Syrian leadership has already disbanded the country's former army and various armed groups, aiming to unite them under a new military structure.
