Canada will retaliate against President Donald Trump’s new tariffs by imposing 25% duties on a range of U.S. goods. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Americans should be prepared for the consequences of Trump’s actions.
Trudeau told a news conference that the tariffs would take effect on Tuesday, the same day as the U.S. tariffs.
The Canadian leader said the tariffs would cover U.S. beer, wine, bourbon, fruit and fruit juices, and orange juice from Trump’s native Florida. Canada is also targeting clothing, sporting goods, and appliances.
